About the Position: Serves as a Training Operations and Ammunition Specialist, with scope of responsibility encompassing General Administration and Management.

Major duties

Plans, coordinates, and synchronizes the use of land, facilities, equipment, and manpower in support of all courses conducted by 1st Battalion subordinate units Assists in coordinating support for training operations and signs for and sub-hand receipts items needed for training areas and facilities. Develops, coordinates, and implements necessary actions, policies, and guidelines based on regulations and directives. Determines near-term and forecasts long-term ammunition requirements. Makes recommendations for future work in AHA as required to support plus up of student load and changes in course POIs Develops Force Protection plans and procedures, resource generation and management practices, and holistic and comprehensive program reviews and assessments.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Providing technical and operational support to battalion leadership by planning, coordinating, and synchronizing personnel, facilities, equipment, training areas, and other resources required to execute military training programs and analyzing operational requirements, preparing training schedules, monitoring resource utilization, and recommending solutions to resolve scheduling and operational issues 2) Managing the Battalion's training ammunition program by forecasting ammunition requirements, ensuring accountability and compliance with Department of the Army and installation policies, 3) Maintaining facilities and equipment, developing improvement recommendations, coordinating maintenance activities, instructing forklift operators, and supporting safe ammunition storage and handling in accordance with regulatory requirements, and 4) Sustaining accurate financial records, and ensuring all purchases complied with applicable federal acquisition policies, while using automated systems. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Organizational Awareness Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Some positions allow education as a substitution, this position is based on experience only. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
