What you'd do
You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT) in the IT Directorate (N6) of PAC FLEET SUB FORCE OPS COMPONENT. PAY RANGE: GS-12: $100,602 - $130,786 GS-11: $83,935 - $109,122
Major duties
You will plan and coordinate new IT Projects to implement including NMCI upgrades and changes affection shore based customers. You will assist claimant commands to define customer IM/IT requirements, manage NMCI network service and accounts, schedule and coordinate new services. You will serve as a customer liaison for all customer service problems. You will apply configuration management disciplines to assist claimant customers to properly manage and maintain an accurate inventory of network assets and installed services.
What you need to qualify
FOR GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinating and implementing information technology (IT) projects affecting customer support services (e.g. systems upgrades); deploying new or replacement equipment (e.g. mobile devices, multifunction devices, video teleconferencing, workstations and peripherals, and other IT equipment) to optimize the security and functionality of end users' IT systems. Your experience must reflect skills in the following areas: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: coordinating and implementing new information technology projects 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Identify information technology (IT) security program implications of new technologies or technology upgrades. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Communicates the value of information technology {IT) security throughout all levels of the organization's stakeholders. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Interpreting date, planning the work; and refining the methods and techniques being used. FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning and delivering information technology (IT) projects affecting customer support services (e.g. systems upgrades); deploying new or replacement equipment (e.g. mobile devices, multifunction devices, video teleconferencing, workstations and peripherals, and other IT equipment) to optimize functionality of end users' IT systems. Your experience must reflect skills in the following areas: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: applying IT principles, methods, and practices in the assigned specialty area. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: providing technical support to users for video teleconferencing, remote desktop access, connectivity, interface and user account problems. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: communicate technical information to nontechnical customers on issues impacting networking availability and IT issues. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: diagnosing and resolving IT problems in response to customer reported issues.
