About the Position: This position is located at Fort Gordon, GA - Military Installation, 2nd Floor of MTF. Hours: 0730-1600, individual office space in a High Tempo work environment. Serves as a Contact Representative at a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) within the Defense Health Agency (DHA). Provides support/assistance to Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard, retired service members, family members and other personnel eligible for DoD healthcare.
Major duties
Provide specific information about enrollment into the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) and/or the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP). Receive and interviews patients, sponsors or other person having knowledge of or accompanying the patient. Assists beneficiaries to make appointments for referred/deferred Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) medical care. Assume responsibility for specific debt collection cases upon notification and assignment through to its conclusion. Maintain the TRICARE briefing program which covers the Military Health System to include TRICARE.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes resolving complex customer or patient inquiries within a medical treatment facility or clinic; providing assistance to patients; assisting beneficiaries with health care related benefits; AND utilizing an automated healthcare database to enter and retrieve patient data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Hospital administration, Public health administration, or related fields such as Business or Public administration with course work in Health care Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
