SHIPWRIGHT LEADER
What you'd do
You will serve as a SHIPWRIGHT LEADER in the Waterfront Service Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.
Major duties
You will lead other workers and instructs them on work requirements, methods, procedures as needed and inspect work while in progress to ensure verbatim compliance with technical directives. You will be responsible for considering skills required and material, specifications and equipment available to do the work. You will maintain schedule and changes in work plans as directed by supervisor and keep supervisor informed concerning work progress, technical and personnel problems, material and manpower requirements. You will be building supporting cradles for dry docking vessels. You will establish reference points and lines for locating hull parts, machinery, deck, bulkheads, superstructure or foundations and other equipment and fittings with relation to the overall ship alignment, shape and balance. You will plan, coordinate, and execute removal, repair and replacement of hull damping material e.g. absorber, reflector tile, plastic graphite tile, special hull treatment tile, etc. using pneumatic chipping guns, heat induction, and hydro blasting. You will perform the construction of protective coverings to prevent damage to equipment and fixtures that are not being worked on or new equipment installed during the overhaul.
