MANAGER
What you'd do
You will serve as a Manager in the Contracts Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-06 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14/15. This position may be eligible for Supervisory Pay Differential of up to four (4) percent.
Major duties
You will serve as the Chief of Contracts for NSWC Crane Division, and a member of the Command Executive Leadership Team. You will be responsible for effective day-to-day tactical and strategic leadership of the Contracts Department in support of the NSWC Crane mission. You will provide advice to senior leadership on a wide variety of acquisition matters. You will develop flexible and innovative acquisition strategies to ensure the best possible support to NSWC Crane, and the warfighter. You will have complete authority, to include signature authority, for all contractual actions, most of which involve service contracts, but include highly complex research and development acquisitions. You will participate in the Contract Review Board (CRB) process, peer review and lead Management Team meetings to ensure high quality contract documents and products meet policy and regulation. You will lead all aspects of the Acquisition process. You will ensure that the mission of the organization is carried out in the accordance with the governing laws , regulations, policies and procedures. You will ensure effective customer service through interactions with serviced organizations and establishing/monitoring the appropriate metrics. You will participate in the leadership of the department and contribute to cross-departmental initiatives.
What you need to qualify
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-05 (GS-13/14) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing oversight and leadership for long-range acquisition planning, negotiation techniques, contract awarding or administering and settling termination of major acquisitions to resolve critical problems that impact personnel and fleet readiness.
