Management Analyst
What you'd do
As a Management Analyst you will plan and conduct studies related to management improvement issues. You will advise on the impact of changes in mission or resources and recommend alternative courses of action and possible solutions for resolving management problems in areas such as systems, manpower utilization, productivity management, workflow, and paperwork management. Major duties
If selected for this position, your duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Employ advanced qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze, evaluate, and/or improve the efficiency of internal administrative operations, organizations, or management. Develop, coordinate, and implement performance measures to evaluate organizational productivity. Establish study methods and techniques to be utilized in complex studies and audits. Develop recommendations including work method and procedural changes, systems variations, and acceptance of new technology developments. Recommend strategies to improve program implementation and evaluations. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of complex administrative operations. Develop modifications, revisions, and implement procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
What you need to qualify
In order to qualify for a Management Analyst, GS-0343 position at the GS-09 level, you must have: A. completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. Education must be related to the position to be qualifying. OR B. 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1.) Analyzing administrative operations to identify efficiency improvements. 2.) Preparing complete workflow analysis materials and cost studies. 3.) Developing work plans and reports based on operational observations. AND 4.) Evaluating operational plans and providing recommendations for process improvement. OR C. a combination of post baccalaureate education related to the position and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. In order to qualify for a Management Analyst, GS-0343 position at the GS-11 level, you must have: A. completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M. Education must be related to the position to be qualifying. OR B. 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1.) Gathering and analyzing narrative and statistical information using established methods. 2.) Conducting studies of work processes and administrative procedures. 3.) Applying analytical techniques to recommend solutions for management problems. AND 4.) Establishing facts and developing connections between findings and proposed solutions. OR C. combination of post baccalaureate education related to the position and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. In order to qualify for a Management Analyst, GS-0343 position at the GS-12 level, you must have: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1.) Planning and conducting management improvement studies across organizational functions. 2.) Modifying analytical methods to address specific circumstances in organizational studies. 3.) Preparing and delivering briefings to present findings to management. 4.) Collaborating with agency leadership to develop alternative courses of action. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
