Program Analyst
What you'd do
This role serves as a key analytical resource within an organization, applying advanced qualitative and quantitative methods to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of agency programs.The role carries significant responsibility for leading independent studies and audits, interpreting findings, and formulating actionable recommendations for senior program officials on matters ranging from procedural changes to the adoption of new technologies.
Major duties
If selected for this position, your duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Employ advanced qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze, and measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of organizational programs. Develop, coordinate, and implement performance measures to evaluate productivity programs. Establish study methods and techniques to be utilized in complex studies and audits. Interpret findings resulting from studies that are independently developed. Recommend strategies to improve program implementations and evaluations. Research complex and ongoing and projected programmatic activities. Develop modifications, revisions, and implement procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations.
What you need to qualify
In order to qualify for a Program Analyst GS-0343 position at the GS-09 level, you must have: A. completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR B. 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1.) Participating in studies and analyses of program operations. 2.) Reviewing policies and procedures related to the program operations. AND 3.) Gathering and organizing statistical information to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations; OR C. a combination of post baccalaureate education that is related to the position and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. In order to qualify for a Program Analyst, GS-0343 position at the GS-11 level, you must have: A. completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M., if related; OR B. 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: : 1.) Analyzing the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of conventional problems involving program operations. 2.) Reviewing the effectiveness of policies and procedures related to the management and administration of financial and budgeting operations. 3.) Gathering and organizing statistical information to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations. AND 4.) Drafting recommendations for modifying, revising, or implementing procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations; OR C. a combination of post baccalaureate education that is related to the position and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. In order to qualify for a Program Analyst GS-343 position at the GS-12 level, you must have: One year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1.) Analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of organizational programs. 2.) Performing studies and analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures related to the management and administration of financial and budgeting operations. 3.) Implementing procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations. 4.) Recommending and implementing operations solutions to senior management. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
