Supervisory Program Analyst
What you'd do
This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. This position is as the Director of Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP), a directorate under the Defense Personnel and Family Support Office (DPFSO), and component of the Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA), a field activity under the direction and authority of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (P&R); which incorporates the Defense Support Service Center (DSSC).
Major duties
As a Supervisory Program Analyst at the GS-0343-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Advise the Director of DSSC on expanding employment opportunities and accommodation services for wounded Service members and individuals with disabilities. Serve as the principal DoD and DSSC representative to senior Federal task forces, including the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Lead equipment evaluations, needs assessments, and technology demonstrations for supervisors, political appointees, and Federal leaders. Assess program effectiveness in relation to recruitment and retention benchmarks for disabled veterans, wounded Service members, and individuals with disabilities. Provide expert testimony before Congressional committees (either independently or alongside senior DoD officials) regarding CAP initiatives, policies, and employment provisions.
What you need to qualify
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to theGS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Managing or directing a program that provides assistive technology. Verifying section 508 compliance, accommodations, or related support services for individuals with disabilities within a Federal agency or Department of Defense (DoD) component Supervisory responsibility over professional staff and oversight of acquisition, budget, and policy development activities. B. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
