What you'd do

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to Bellows Air Force Station, Waimanalo, HI.

Major duties

Monitors operations of a restaurant or assigned area, normally during absence of the manager and assistant manager, and normally at night or on weekends. Reviews the schedule of functions that are to take place during the assigned shift and ensures they are carried out as planned by management. Placing weekly orders for food and supplies. Purchasing with government issued P-Card. Assist with balancing daily financial intake. Provides instruction and guidance to all restaurant staff members on functions taking place during the shift. Ensures that only authorized personnel use the facility, and that restaurant rules, regulations and established procedures are followed. Prepares a report of all significant occurrences during the shift. Maintains order in the facility. Assures patron satisfaction by resolving complaints and other customer problems. Responds to emergencies. Ensures adherence with security, safety, sanitation, cash handling and property control procedures. Inspects and secures facility at the end of the shift. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience or training which demonstrates the ability to take responsibility for food and beverage operations in the absence of the managerial staff. Must also possess experience which provides knowledge of cash handling procedures and sales operations such as; receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and use of cash accountability control methods. Must have experience which demonstrates ability to provide work direction to other food and beverage employees and knowledge of fire, safety, and health regulations. Must be able to communicate with customers and possess skill in dealing with the public.
