What you'd do

You will serve as a Financial Management Analyst for SOUTHEAST REG MAINTENANCE CTR SERMC.

Major duties

You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration. You will perform formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities. You will review and evaluate budget requests. You will control and report on obligations and expenditure. You will develop, determine, and interpret budgetary policies and practices. You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization’s programs and administrative operations. You will implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets. You will provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization’s programs and activities. You will provide FIAR support to include reviewing completed work for accuracy of data and information, procedure and guidance compliance, and error-free documentation prior to submission. You will ensure financial statements are created in compliance with audit requirements. You will prepare various financial documents and briefings for review and use by senior leadership. You will prepare audit readiness samples in accordance with DoD FIAR guidance to include ensuring that all PII is properly redacted from the submission.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience and knowledge of DoD financial management procedures, laws, and regulations; knowledge of budget policies and requirements; knowledge of auditing techniques. Knowledge and awareness of DoD/DON financial management initiatives including current policies, and possible trends. Ability to apply innovative management concepts and forward thinking. Experience communicating effectively at all levels of the chain of command. Experience and knowledge of financial operations in DoD ship repair or industrial activities. Experience working in the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning system (Navy ERP).
