Major duties
Serving as a Lead Fleet Management Specialist GS-2150-12 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the The primary purpose of the position is to plan, coordinate, and direct fleet management of accountable mobile assets acquired by FLETC. Typical duties include: Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of fleet management operations involving accountable and/or sensitive government personal property assets and recommends alternative strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of vehicle and marine fleet operations in support of the FLETC law enforcement training mission. Tracks the movement of accountable mobile assets through their life cycle as FLETC inventory from the date of acquisition to the date of disposal. Advises employees on program goals and objectives, communicates team assignments and deadlines; coaches team members on selection of problem-solving methods; balances workload and tasks among employees; facilitates training to enhance teamwork and team building; monitors and reports on teamwork progress in accordance with established requirements and guidelines; and, coordinates team initiatives and promotes consensus building among team members. For additional assistance, please visit: USAJOBS Help Center - Update your resume now so it meets new resume requirements Specialized Experience Required: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in Federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, demonstrating the ability to: providing technical guidance on fleet management operations; developing and implementing program improvements to ensure compliance with all applicable organizational and federal requirement; analyzing, evaluating fleet operations and recommending strategies to enhance efficiency; managing digital inventory systems for mobile assets; coordinating with budget, finance, and property management staff; ensuring regulatory compliance through training and stakeholder engagement; and lead a team by assigning work, setting priorities, monitoring progress, and promoting effective teamwork. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement. Physical Demands: The duties are primarily performed in an office setting. The position must, however, be sufficiently mobile to effectively monitor/evaluate the performance of his or her team members as well as participate in activities necessary to conduct the physical inventories of mobile assets and associated accountable personal property (e.g., vehicle radios). This may require considerable standing, walking, stooping, bending, and vehicle operation. Work Environment: The work area is well-lighted and ventilated. Work involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting rooms, classrooms, etc. On occasion, there is the need to vary work locations or schedules. In such cases, the project or assignment would dictate the work environment.
