Recreation Fee Clerk (Seasonal)
What you'd do
Fee Clerks collect and account for fees, interacting with visitors and sharing information. Serve as front-line representative to answer questions and guidance to guests. Open to the first 30 applicants. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the 08/09/2026 to be considered.
Major duties
The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for Seasonal Staffing Office-Theodore Roosevelt National Park is October - April, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: October. Recreation Fee Clerk & Technician Standard Duties: Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc. Perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S. Treasury regulations governing the handling of government funds. Operate an electronic cash register, computer, or Point of Sale (POS) system to conduct financial transactions; perform opening and closing functions; issue entrance receipts, tour tickets, permits, etc. Inventory and/or restock fee program supplies and assist with placing orders and preparing requisition requests for equipment/supplies needed.

To receive credit for experience, your 2 page resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. Resumes must not exceed two single-sided pages and resumes longer than two pages will not be accepted. You may only submit one resume. In the event you submit more than one resume, only the latest submission will be reviewed. To qualify for this position at the GS-04 level, you must possess one of the following: A. One year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that demonstrates your ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of Recreation Fee Clerk. -OR- B. Two years of education above high school (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. -OR- C. Equivalent combination of experience and education that, together, equal 100% of the qualification standards listed above when combined. ICTAP/CTAP Statement: Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection. Well qualified means that the applicant meets the following: OPM qualification standards for the position; all selective placement factors, where applicable; special qualifying conditions that OPM has approved for the position, where applicable; is physically qualified with reasonable accommodation, where appropriate to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position upon entry; and is rated by the organization at least at the well qualified level on all competencies.
