What you'd do

You will serve as a Senior Engineer in the San Diego Detachment of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-12 and GS-13.

Major duties

You will apply complex methods and perform work on projects from design development through inspection and approval to final completion and documentation. You will plan, schedule, and conduct a detailed investigation of projects with several complex features. You will prepare and maintain pertinent documentation of assigned projects. You will conduct tests in a laboratory setting or on a range, and monitor specific parts of complex tests. You will collaborate and coordinate with team members consisting of government, industry, and academia. You will analyze test data, draw conclusions, and recommend changes either in procedure or in the item tested.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9/11 grade level or ND-3 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Strong project management skills, and the ability to interface with internal and external customers to develop and field complex electronic and electromechanical systems. Must be effective with both written and oral communication, presenting technical and programmatic information to military and civilian personnel. Examples of qualifying experience include troubleshooting Unmanned Undersea Vehicles to support the Undersea Surveillance Community.
